About Naveen JainNaveen Jain is a well-known Washington businessman and former Microsoft Corporation manager. He formed two Internet ventures in Bellevue in 1996 and 2003. He is a winner of the Albert Einstein Technology Medal and a finalist of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst and Young. His first company, InfoSpace.com, sold web content like stock quotes and horoscopes. Naveen Jain formed it in March 1996, shortly after leaving a project management job at Microsoft Corporation. His company has since evolved to sell metasearch consumer products. A second company, Intelius, followed InfoSpace in January 2003. Formed after Naveen Jain left InfoSpace, Intelius is a public intelligence provider of over 100 services. It serves mostly consumers in Washington, D.C. who are looking for state records on individuals. The venture is so successful that it has reported a seven million-strong clientle. This includes an address database that goes as far back as 30 years and an award-winning identity theft protection service called IDWatch. He is the current chief executive officer of the company. Intelius is one of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2008 according to the Puget Sound Business Journal. Deloitte & Touche also recognized the company as one of North America’s Technology Fast 500.Naveen Jain is also prominent in the state’s philanthropy circles. Although he has yet to trump his former boss, Bill Gates, in generous giving, Naveen Jain has nonetheless made his mark in the state’s corporate philanthropy. In 2008, Naveen Jain led Intelius into contributing more than $200,000 to various charities all over the state. The Puget Sound Business Journal went as far as naming the company one of the top 25 corporate philanthropists. Jain particularly favors charities that benefit children. Naveen Jain has donated to the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club, the Seattle Children’s Hospital, TreeHouse, United Way, Kindering Care, and Child Rights and You.
