Vertical turbines do however work extremely well on the roofs of high buildings. For use in most residential applications though, youll want to stick to standard horizontally oriented wind turbines. Theye less expensive generally and theyll work better for most residential buildings. Luckily, normal turbines are extremely easy to get set up, and very inexpensive. Since they are powered by the wind, and do not rely on fossil fuels to operate, there are no greenhouse gases produced to pollute the atmosphere. The third advantage of using wind turbines is that they are easy to install. Practically anyone who can follow a good instruction manual can do it.
